PENTAX K100D
An unknown adventure

A Full disassembly coming soon. 15 December 2006

In the beginning : Links : S602 Disassembly

Notes (unfinished) etc for the Nikon CP5700 , S6900 and the S3800

URGENTLY WANTED : Dead, Unfixable, Written oFF, Damaged K100D

If you have an unrepairable / not worth repairing unit, it is needed for autopsy. My FIRST quest is to increase the BUFFER !! What I consider will be another historic classic (as per the S602), is severley let down by the crappy buffer size. As long as the ram is not BGA, there's a good chance it may be easily incresed by "piggybacking" a second chip, and sorting out some decoding. This isn't a new technique and often has good success with systems based on Third-party RTOS's. Then there's a couple other nigglies I want to sort out, including P/Supply.

01 : NON-Standard USB pinouts :
Our first order of the day is the non-standard mini-USB connector. Even though making a patch lead shouldn't be a hassle, we first have to find the cable.
